Gonza Tacos y Tequila in Cary

Love this place! I had the chef special tacos, amazing! Or party of 11 was day promptly on a Saturday night without a reservation. Service was great too! Thank you Gonza for feeding hungry swimmers!

The food portions are small and expensive. Everything tasted good though except for the salad which was a blend of fresh greens, blocks of cheese, watermelon, and a citrus vinaigrette. It was disgusting. The deserts were good, very sweet.

I really appreciated that after making a reservation a day ahead I was seated promptly upon arrival and in a quieter section. It was super busy and they did an amazing job of efficient seating for everyone. Service was perfect including drinks coming from the bar while packed. As always the food was good. Prices are a little higher here but you receive excellent service so I consider it worth it.

With no reservation they were able to seat us in a reasonable amount of time on Valentine's day. Plus the food is always great.

We've been eating (and enjoying) Gonza tacos at the Durham Bulls for a couple of years. The Cary branch is close to home and even better that eating at the ball park. I had the pescado special (Mahi), which was delicious.

I went one time for lunch and the food was good. The atmosphere and the decor inside make the place look great. The service was poor at best and we hardly saw the waiter and the water glasses went empty at times. The second time I tried to go was to meet a friend for drinks and maybe an early dinner but they are closed from 2-5 pm.

Dog friendly w nice walking areas around.Joined a small group. It's a nice place.

I had the carnitas tacos, they were a smallish, tasty serving. Recommended.

Really well done food with interesting menu choices. Not your typical Mexican menu items. All food from appetizers to desserts are expertly made and presented beautifully.

Celebrated Cinco de Mayo here tonight. Such fun! The coconut flan was amazing!

The nachos were good. The salsa was not very good in my opinion. For this style of restaurant you would expect more choices and quality in this area.

The best tacos al pastor I ever had in the US!The atmosphere is one of a kind and traditional plates have their own twist. The team in place is very useful and friendly. I would come back any time without doubting it a minute! Make yourself a favor and go one night with your best buddies!

My waitress was Andreanna she was absolutely amazing and knew the menu so well!! We had such a fantastic experience and the food was AMAZING. Super chill vibe! I will definitely be back!

The food here is amazing! I love their vegetarian tacos. The atmosphere is really nice too. Be sure to get a reservation! Next time I probably won't reserve a table at a peak time like 6:45 since we still had to wait to be seated.

Chips and queso very good. Queso has a little "kick" to it... Very tasty. We had steak tacos and shrimp tacos. Tacos are Yummmy. You get three small tacos and that is plenty of food on top of the chips. Restaurant is clean and staff is awesome. We Sat at the bar and had great service.

Pretty good. Over kill on the portions of meat but the guacamole was amazing.

It was a bust night, so the service was spotty. But we were tended to by a few different people. It was really loud where we were sitting so hard to catch up like we all wanted to. Food was good. Parking can be a nightmare because it is Waverly place, so plan accordingly.

First the atmosphere is super relaxed. Service is A+ and food is one of the best I've ever had loved everything.

Great food, good atmosphere. They do have the hostess desk in a bad position, if there's a lot of people waiting they're on top of the ones eating nearby (when cold out mostly). If it's the weekend, make sure you have a reservation

The food was really good and that's what's important so I had to give it five stars. I had a veggie stuffed poblano and it was nothing like the normal Mexican garbage it was actually delicious with a surprise plantain inside. That said it was a little pricey on the service was just adequate...

Consistently great food, always so fresh. We've been there several times and had takeout a dozen times or more...never disappoints.

We were kept waiting 1/2 hour beyond our reservation time. The service was friendly and helpful. Our server knew the tequila menu well and was able to make a suggestion, which ended up being very enjoyable.After that, though, we were ignored for quite a while and had to ask for a refill on chips (which were not hot or really all that good).The food came - fish tacos were very strongly fishy, which was not good. Beef short rib tacos were really excellent, the meat was tender & juicy.Unfortunately, our meal was interrupted by a crash when a server dropped a load of something behind us, slightly spattering our (washable) jackets.The place was very busy and noisy, so I'm guessing they just had a rough night. We will try them again because the beef tacos and tequila were worth a second chance.

A convenient spot to get some tasty Mexican while visiting the shopping center. Servers are smiling and fajitas are sizzling at this place.

Service was excellent. They have a good variety of unique dishes on the menu but not so many options that it's overwhelming. Almost every dish was something I hadn't encountered before, and the few "standard" items we had were still excellent (queso & guac). Music wasn't overly loud, ambiance was decent. The decor was unusual but still pretty cool. This is definitely worth a try.

My favorite "Mexican" spot in the area! The vibes and atmosphere is so fun and the food is even better! Plus they have tons of tequila to choose from. I love this place

A really fun place to eat. Mexican/Colombian is definitely a great hybrid. The atmosphere is really vibrant. Colorful lights and art are everywhere. The music is great and most importantly so is the food. Chips and salsa come with the meal and are served warm... yum. The watermelon margaritas are delicious and very balanced between sweet and the deep flavor of the tequila. The staff are very accommodating and the restaurant is clean, especially considering that they were so busy that we had a twenty minute wait for a table. We're looking forward to going back soon.

This was my first time to the restaurant and my first impression was very promising. Its a really well laid out, fun and inviting space. Our "buzzer" was a bobble head, how cool!!The food was beautiful! Everything that came to the table was presented in a very creative way, and the smell was amazing. I liked the salsa, our waitress was amazingly kind to us. We were a large group, so I know we can be a lot. However, the food lacked any flavor and was stuck to my skillet due to how burnt it was but the veggies were still a little underdone. :( Most people did not finish their dish and only a few took leftovers with us. My meal was $19 with gratuity included, which was a little much for lunch in my taste. Most dishes are $11+

good tacos, but not even close to worth how they’re priced! they’re little tiny street tacos for $5 each. ($15 for 3) a small cup of queso was $6? 😱 (it did taste pretty good...but not THAT good) way too much for what you get in my opinion!

The drinks here are top notch. Amazing tequila cocktails and Margaritas. Food is very good and the perfect portion size (not too big or small). Sit at the bar if you can, and order your food from there.

I am never disappointed at the food here. I highly recommend you to have the queso. Recently I got the chefs tacos which were curried tacos which were great.
